Dear Church,

I cannot believe we are a full month into 2019.  This month has been full of many surprises, such as the foot of snow that just will not seem to quit coming down.  Amidst that and below weather, it has been a very interesting beginning of the year to say the least.

We did have to cancel our Birthday Luncheon.  However, we were just so excited to have it that there is NO WAY we are letting it get by us!  So, keep your eyes out for the event schedule, we will be rescheduling that and we hope to have as many people show up for that as possible!  We want to share the joy of fellowship with everyone; the more the merrier!

During the month of January, we went through a sermon series entitled "Passion."  During this month, I talked about what it meant to be passionate about your faith and your spirituality.  The synopsis of this is, we need to be excited and passionate about our faith.  Remember, we are the ones that will draw people to Christ.  If they can't see that Christ has impacted our lives, they won't be interested in exploring God and understanding what He can do for them.

In lieu of this, I want to encourage everyone to invite a friend to church.  Church is for everyone and anyone can be invited.  As Christians, our everyday lives are our mission field.  Wherever you go and whatever you do, people need to hear the gospel message and be invited to participate in a faith community to be introduced to and nurtured in this wonderful thing we call faith.

For the month of February, the sermons will be based on hymns.  Each hymn has something that can lead us deeper in our faith.  Whether it be theology presented, the scripture it is based on, or the insight that can be gained from the story of the person writing it.  This month, I want to explore that so we can get a better understanding for the words we sing that can have a tremendous impact on our lives.

I hope that through this weather and the other difficulties of life, we can see as many people at church worshipping with us each and every week.
